My Writing Journey
I had a story to tell and was aching to get it out. For years I flirted with the idea of working with a ghost writer. I figured they'd use all the bells and whistles to attract mainstream publishers to my manuscript. Then after two failed ghostwriter working relationships I thought to write the story in my own words. I mean, who could tell the story better than I could?

Once the decision was made to write the story myself I set out to discover how best to write it. When finding extra time in my hectic schedule I sat in on a few continuing education courses that taught the basics of storytelling. I also attended writing retreats and seminars to further hone the craft. However it wasn't until 2009 when I attended a VONA writer's retreat at the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, CA that I learned how to trust my own uniquely humorous voice and candid delivery. VONA taught me the writing process is not at all taboo, and that freedom of expression is key to the organization of the written word. It was there that I learned the life-changing lessons needed to convey the story in the "Trust, The Novel" series, which happens to be my first published work.

I've learned I enjoy telling stories that challenge the human intellect and cause pivots in perspectives. We should all be so lucky to discover that thing within ourselves which drives us to enhance our own lives and the lives of others.
