Just because things didn't turn out the way you expected doesn't mean they didn't turn out the way they were supposed to.
Experiencing the unexpected after hard work, good will, and time vested is difficult. Very difficult. Ok, I won't lie its just plain hard. But don't let that scare you. For some reason the hard act of swallowing disappointment has meaning. It may take years to discover what that is but its facts that you will eventually learn why things didn't turn out the way you'd planned and prepared for them to.
You will have also grown some character throughout the process of learning to accept the unexpected. My dad used to say "life battles will grow some hair on your chest." That's a fictional idiom referencing a physical reaction to the difficulties of life's twists and turns. Whatever the meaning of your disappointment you absolutely will have grown after enduring it. After all, isn't personal growth what its all about?
